Dr. Lau is a Research Assistant Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Department of Psychiatry.

Dr. Lau’s research mainly focuses on the biological mechanisms behind heritable psychiatric disorders, including ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. Her work is at the forefront of Computational Psychiatry, using multimodal data and cross-species comparisons to understand how brain circuits transition between healthy and pathological states. The ultimate goal of her projects is to find new ways to classify, manage, and treat these complex brain disorders.

On March 10, 2026 we had the privilege of hearing from Dr. Lau and her PhD student, Maciej, who presented an informative talk about their research on psychiatric disorders, particularly focusing on new innovative research methods and technologies.
